It’s the day after Thanksgiving, it’s 30 days till’ Christmas! I can’t believe this year is almost over! It’s been a huge year for me and I’m excited to start a new one.
Today’s a momentous day for most. The Christmas music can officially be on 24/7, Christmas trees will enter living rooms and be elaborately decorated with boxes of mysterious gifts stacked below, blown up Santa’s and reindeers be strewn with lights in the front yard. In the upcoming four weeks, families will come together and celebrate with food and drink. It really is a beautiful time of year and holds so many wonderful traditions and memories for most.
Also, today marks 30 days of glutton! We don’t have to watch our waists because the New Year is right around the corner and that’s when we will start anew, making the resolutions to diet, get a gym membership & become more “on top of things”.
This has been my reasoning for the last… Well, for a LONG time! I convince myself the new year will bring so many possibilities and I will be this new person who goes to the gym every day, eats healthy and becomes over the top organized. So for the month of December I fall for all of the cakes, pies, stuffings and other delicious holiday foods. Knowing in January it will all be taken care of with my new strict diet.
This year is different! I am starting today, November 25th, I’m going to eat clean, work out daily and attempt to better organize my life for the next thirty days. As much as the temptation to wait until the new year is rolling around in the back of my mind, because thats how I’ve brainwashed myself to think for the last few years. I realize the beginning of the year resolutions will only last for 18 days or so and I want this to stick. I really want to go into 2012 with a fitter, healthier more put together attitude and body; instead of going into it sluggish and unhealthy.
Seven months ago, Dave and I decided to completely change the way we live and we have really made amazing progress and feel so good about the things we’ve accomplished. This being our first holiday season since, we can either commit to sticking with our changes or we can let our old habits creep back in and cause us to travel backwards in our progress. We commit to moving forward, being proud of our decisions and entering the new year a better person! So my “resolution” starts today, I’m excited to push myself for the next thirty days and feel confident entering the new year with great goals and accomplishments. Will you join me?
